A natural mineral which has been heated to a high temperature, Vermiculite comprises of lightweight, highly absorbent flakes. By adding Vermiculite to growing media it will improve aeration and increase retention of moisture and nutrients. Vermiculite can help promote faster, healthier plant growth and also possesses ‘cation exchange’ properties enabling it to hold and make available to growing plants ammonium, potassium, calcium and magnesium. Providing good air balance, Vermiculite helps maintain an even temperature and can be used for seed germinations, pricking out, potting-on and plants in containers or tubs. Vermiculite which is added to compost and other growing media, will ensure the applied nutrients are available to the plant’s root system.

At Woodlands Garden Centre we offer a local delivery service (charges apply). We can deliver to most of Kent and South East London. If you are outside of our local area we also offer a click and collect service from our store.

Local Delivery: Your delivery date can be selected at the checkout. Our delivery drivers are not able to carry your items upstairs, through alleyways or long distances.
How big are our own vehicles?
If you are ordering a bulk bag (or an item we are enable to lift by hand) we will use our crane lorry, this is approx 9ft wide including the mirrors. Our other vans and trucks are approx 8ft wide (including mirrors).
Can I track my delivery?
Once your order has been processed you will receive an email from us with tracking information.
How fast is delivery?
Local delivery orders will be delivered on the day you select at checkout.
Who will deliver my order?
Local delivery items are delivered using our own vehicles and drivers. Our delivery drivers are not able to carry your items upstairs, through alleyways or long distances. Most deliveries can only be dropped at the front of your property, providing we can park close by. Bulk bags can only be dropped to the side of the vehicle.
What do I do if I want to return an item?
If you return your items within 28 days of delivery you can receive a full refund in accordance with our refunds policy. We will refund any money received using the same method used when you originally purchased the items. Please make sure that you include the sales order or invoice with your return. When returning items to us, please ensure that all original packaging, instructions, tags etc are included as supplied to you. The items need to be returned in an unused original sellable condition.
Is there a minimum spend?
There is no minimum spend for click and collect, but local delivery has a £50 minimum spend.
How does click and collect work?
Once we have processed your order you will receive a ‘ready to collect’ email and text message. When this is received you can make your way to us, park in our click and collect bay and ring the bell or press the link in your text message. We will then bring the items to you.
Please don’t come into store until you have received your ‘ready to collect’ email or text.
Woodlands Garden Centre is a well-established large family run Garden Centre that was established in 1969. We are located near Sevenoaks in Kent along Ash Lane just off the A20 between Wrotham and West Kingsdown. Gardeners of all ages and experience are welcome to visit and talk to our friendly, knowledgeable staff, whether you have a specific need or just wish to browse. We have a large selection of garden related products available to buy in store or online. We are fast becoming one of Kent’s top garden centres.
